I just put a deposit down in a 47 DB. I saw several other new owners. New owners, old owners, let’s communicate!

Did you get the one from Prince William Marine? I'm just starting to look for a sedan bridge and the 47 may fit all the requirements...

Dropping in. Had a 47DB in the past. At time I purchased it could not find anyone on CSR that had one. Now seems like there are several.

Great boat. We moved on because we wanted something larger.

I’m glad to hear that it was a great boat for you. I’m moving up from a 320 Sundancer.

I just got this response from Restoration Marine:

“Next month we will be announcing an upgrade kit for the Sea Ray model years 2004 to 2009. Unfortunately, the material that Sea Ray used during those model years was not very well suited for a marine environment. We examined buying material from the original manufacturer in Norway and quickly reached the conclusion that even new stock would not prevent the delamination from occurring again.”

Cool, similar upgrade. How was the move up? Did it take you long to get used to driving with the ets, the size, etc ?

We took delivery last week and spent the first weekend on the boat. She is one big girl but easy for me to operate. I’m very Happy with our purchase!

It’s amazing that after a month or two it won’t feel that big.

Congrats! Have fun with it.

Hey FootballFan, I have a quick question for you. Did you have an issue with the shower draining properly in the VIP head on your 47DB? When I run the shower it drains very slowly however, as soon as I hit it once with the plunger it creates a whirlpool sucking the water down instatly. I am convinced that this is a design flaw or my drain lines need to be rerouted. I absolutely have no blockage and my issue seems to a some form of vacuum lock or venting issue. Just wondering if you experienced anything similar.

Did not have any issues with drainage from VIP shower. I suspect it is specific to your boat, not a design issue.

Have you checked the sump area - thinking it is in the hallway floor when you turn towards the VIP Cabin.

Have you traced the vents back? Maybe a hose got a crimp in it at some point?

I did have persistent problems with the galley sink draining at a reasonable expected pace. Messed with it some - but never got real happy with it.

I tried everything you recommend above however can’t figure out why it’s not draining properly.

Sorry I cant help.

A good question which demonstrates the benefit of having a 47DB thread. Every boat has design issues - important to find other people with the same boat and compare notes about what they experience.

I would think it is a kink in the line not allowing air to vent. When you use the plunger you break the air lock and it flows. Trace the whole line or replace.

I absolutely agree. Just wish they were more 47DBs out there.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’m going to take a new look at everything this weekend.
