Is CSR SRO reincarnated?

Back in the day there was a forum similar to this one that was called Sea Ray Owners. Was CSR created by a fellow SRO member? I never found a replacement for SRO, the one on ******** (ouch...I was sensored) just doesn't pertain to me...everyone over there talks about cruisers. Anyway, I'm glad I found CSR.

I see Wes is a moderator over here, I remember when he was a noob over at SRO. I was wondering if Wes had something to do with the creation of this site...or maybe this site existed back then too. Anyone got any history on this place...just curious?

Yeah... Wes got in a big fight with Jeremy and threatened to sue him if he didn't start deleting posts with bad language. Jeremy started deleting the posts with bad language and then someone else threatened to sue Jeremy for censorship. This was right after Sea Ray gave Jeremy a brand new boat. Wes, being so upset, went to a guy in Annapolis who sells radios and they bought a Dell PC and started CSR. Sea Ray, meanwhile, started to boss Jeremy around because they gave him that new boat and Jeremy's wife didn't like it so he shut it down. Wes and the radio guy then tried to recruit other members.

Did I get that right?

There are a number of old SRO members here on CSR, but this is definitely not a re-incarnation of the old forum. It would be hard to beat perfection.................

CSR is owned by BOE Marine and related companies.

Its all clear to me now!

Oh yeah... and you are not allowed to mention *********.com or *******.COM or it'll get censored.

Better hurry up and read this before Wesley sees it as he is going to delete it.

Edit by First Born - They don't talk about us and we don't talke about them....

I see Gary must be the trouble maker around here...nice sense of humor though. You're kinda like Howard Stern, I'll just keep reading the forums to see what you say next.

I think I got a grasp on the BOE/BOG/YBO/BOY (did I miss any) affiliation here.

Next question is why Sea Ray Owners and no other manufacturers? I may have missed the answer in my 3 minutes of research that I just did.

SRO closed, members were lost, members joined several sites looking for home, most of us ended up here on Jim's site due to it being Sea Ray specific as opposed to a general boating forum where Sea Ray bashing seemed more like the norm than an exception. It was actually around the whole time SRO was open for business just did not have the following that SRO did. You can go back and read some of the postings that happened at that time of SRO closing. Here is one where Jim opened up the doors for all of us, http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=380

What ever you do, don't make Gary mad and just because you see the word dingleberry, he is not calling you a bad name, he is just marking the posting (I asume because I edited his posting).

Glad you found us. Lot of the same great members and several new ones as well. Welcome to the club!!!

Wesley

Darn it, I missed it. I know who ******.com (BE) but who is ********.COM?

Thanks Wes...and thanks to Jim (whoever he is) for opening the doors.

I did not take offense to the dingleberry post...I read it and laughed. I'm not even sure why the heck he posted it...but it still made me laugh.

Gary, can I come aboard as your 5th son and enjoy that big *** (self-sensored) boat of yours? I'll pay for gas...oh wait, that'll probably cost me two weeks worth of wages. You guys with your 40-50 foot boats make me sick (with jealousy).

Plus at this forum you don’t have all those arrogant people that have cruisers.

I didn't mean it that way...I'm sure you know that, and stop putting words in my mouth :smt018. I wouldn't have used the word arrogant, I have sport boat vocabulary...I would have said "snobby" (not even sure how to spell it). :smt043
Anyway, this forum has a Sport Boat section just for us little guys though, and thats what I was looking for...and, as was stated earlier by Wes...No SR bashing here.

I'm hoping to join the ranks of the SD crowd some day.

:lol:Brad....are you trying to catch Todd (Nehelannia(sp) I and II) in post counts already ?????

Now now now, us ‘cruising folk’ are all in the same exclusive club and you are not in it.

Why even this guy is in the club. Look at all that storage down below. It has a raised master suite with air conditioning. I mean THIS is cruising!

Unfortunately I'm sitting at work (3pm - 10pm) basically just waiting for something to happen...in other words, I'm bored. The good news is that I'm sitting in the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit over looking the Detroit river so I get to go over to the window and look out at the river and dream about being out there instead of in here.

I'll be here all week...get used to it

18 posts about nothing... sounds like Seinfeld:lol:
...and you just added to it
