Ok folks. Tons of options out there. Always been a favor Scosche but my issue is with the direct sunlight on the phone. Anyone run into an over heating scenario? With my new Fusion unit I can control the music from my phone in addition to the MFD but where and how to mount it.

Suggestions?

I’ve got a remote for my Fusion near the helm and the option to control it from one of my MFD’s too.
I usually keep the phone just inside the cabin when I’m moving because the hot sun does cause problems with it and if I get caught in snotty weather I don’t want it to get splashed.
Honestly, between the wind, motors and stereo I usually can’t hear it ringing when the boat is moving anyway.

I haven’t removed the old clarion remote until I decide what to do with the hole. Did you put the remote there?

If you're careful and 100% sober the stick-on Fusion remotes will fit nearly perfectly over the existing Clarion remote hole.

Before and after of my install below. If you have the same Clarion remote as pictured here, you're good to go with the cheapo Fusion rig.

To your original question - I've always used Ram Mount products and have been very pleased.

Yes, the remote is in the same spot that the factory put the original Clarion.
That Clarion and it’s remote were long gone and replaced with a Fusion and Fusion wired remote when I got this boat.
I replaced that Fusion with another last summer and replaced the wired remote with another wired remote at the same time because the new Fusion wouldn’t work with the old Fusion remote.
Fusion makes an adapter plate that fits the newer remote and covers the old hole. I used that.
But if you went with another remote, like the wireless one, you could make your own adapter plate out of starboard.

Not a bad idea. I was just at the boat and was debating whether to cover the hole and make a cell holder for that area. The fusion is connected to my Garmin’s so having my cell there as the remote would be helpful as well.
