Mid-90's 270 Sundancer Thread

Front Glass, Top, & Camper Canvas For 94-99 270 DA

This is canvas that came with my 270 and has been in storage for years. It is a match to the Great Lakes Boat Top canvas from Sea Ray. The glass looks yellowed but all is in reasonable shape, Wheat color.

I have:
3 front glass panels.
2 side glass panels
1 Bimini top.
2 top boot covers.
2 camper side panels
1 camper back panel
1 camper top. (this is the only piece that has damage, it has torn in the seam, about 12 inches, 2 inches behind the zipper that connects to the Bimini.)

Will sell all or individual pieces, PM me and make an offer on what you need.

So I took my 270 out and the prop spun, the last guy must have hit something, it’s at the prop shop and seams to be a odd size, it is on a 7.4 bravo 2, prop is ss 17 1/4 x 21, does that sound about right? Does anyone know what stock was, al or ss? Thanks for the help! I was not even able to asses how well it worked :(

Hope this helps

Yes!! Thank you !

anyone have a rough idea how thick the glasswork is on the platform? im planning on putting my grill mount right by the swim ladder and hoping to avoid drilling holes to measure to measure for thickness.

***UPDATE***
there isnt actually enough room behind the swim ladder on the factory platform. ended up putting it on the starboard motor cover in the corner.

do you have the poles for the camper top?

looks like i sucked up a bunch of sand at a raft up saturday (go me!) had to get towed back in...

looks like i have to fun task of flushing out all the sand from the motor. also this week a new depth finder and is going in.

I've owned my 1993 Sundancer 270 since 2000. The steering was always tight to turn... 8 yeas ago I replaced the piston ram assembly, last year the power steering pump. Still tight. Makes no difference weather the engine is running or not.. same hard wheel. I didn't replace the cable because I was told if it moves back and forth, it's still good. What's left to do?

Good afternoon folks, New to the forum new to the boat. Needed a bigger boat as we have a big family and I'm too old to ski anymore. Have always liked the SeaRays. Ran into a deal on a 1995 270 so we snapped it up. I've been doing a lot of reading on here and you guys seem to know your stuff.
Thanks for letting me hang out.

if its not one thing its another... fuel pressure regulator took a shit on me... new fuel pump cooler and regulator will be here tomorrow. this is looking really interesting to change, shes a bit tight under the motor where its tucked in there.

could they honestly found a worse spot for the fuel pump???

Hi All. I loved reading through this thread. Lots of owner knowledge that will help me out in bundles as I am going to be taking delivery of a '94 270 Sundancer in April, 2020, and I DIY 90% of the work on my boats. This is going to be my first SeaRay and frankly, I'm really psyched!

The boat I'm buying is a second owner boat which has lived it's entire life on Lake Hopatcong, N.J. Unfortunately, the current owner committed the greatest sin a boater can commit, lack of use! His boat is 3 slips over from mine and over the past several summers, I noticed his boat out of the slip on two or three occasions a season tops. Fortunately, he did not scrimp on maintaining a boat he barely ever used. Even more fortunately, he recognizes that owning this boat no longer fits his lifestyle, so I am getting what I believe to be an excellent deal on it!

Now for the bad news - the boat needs a ton of work to get it sorted out to my satisfaction.

On the plus side, the engine is a 8.1L Bravo II repower that was installed in 2009/10. The drivetrain with less then 500 hours on it runs great and this engine/outdrive combo pushes this boat like it was several tons lighter than it is. So the drivetrain is not the issue that needs addressing, it's all the other stuff that makes a SeaRay a SeaRay that needs to be sorted.

Here's the "Short" punch list I came up with when inspecting the boat back in September:
Replace hot water heater
Replace inverter
Replace dock canvas
Replace cabin stereo/all speakers
Replace VHF radio
Replace DF/FF/GPS
Replace pump-out head hoses
Replace macerator
Replace fresh water system hoses
Replace CRT TV (really?) with Flat Panel TV
Replace several cabin courtesy lights
Add a Windlass
Add a Forward Spotlight
Add fender holders
Add microwave oven to cabin
Add additional cabin lighting
Add LED cockpit lighting
Add a transom swim platform (swimplatforms.com has two great options for this boat!)
Add a trailer (2 or 3 axle TBD)

Obviously, this is not all going to get done before the start of next year's boating season or even in the next two or three seasons. I am going to prioritize the creature comfort items first and work towards the more expensive/less "Necessary" items later. Would love to hear any ideas you all have on additional add-ons that I might have missed in my punch list that you think will make this boat likely the last one I will ever have to own!

Thanks and I guess I'll welcome myself aboard here at ClubSeaRay.com
