Welcome to CSR Chris....good luck with the 'new' boat....

you may not be aware that there was significant changes to the 340 model starting in mid 2003.....this forum is primarily for the earlier model 340's....the forum that is specifically for your model is http://clubsearay.com/index.php?thr...0-sundancer-thread.59501/page-88#post-1052197

you are always welcome to post on any forum you wish but you may get more specific replies on specific issues on the other forum...

good luck...

Thanks Cliff

I had the (I believe 90 AMP) fuse for my AMP go, which is connected directly to my forward battery. This made my AMP stop, and no sound came out of my speakers. Perhaps you may have the same problem?
There is a black and a red cable with a fuse connected to it going to a battery on both sides of the boat. I checked the fuse on both and they were good. On the starboard side there are 2 grey and one thick blue cable which I connected to one of the neg terminals, I assume these are the stereo/amp?

What do you mean by forward battery btw?

Anyone know for sure what brand out deck fillers are? Gas, water, waste? Need to replace all the o rings...and want to get the right ones

Seeing the other thread on te newer 340 loosing a vert cover...

How are ours held on? Do we need to remove rne re-caulk around the edges or are they bolts on inside or something?

I don't know if they have screws holding them in. However, I would hop that SR used them vs just some caulk.

I'll be in the bilge tonight doing raw water pumps, so I will try to look and see if I can see any hardware around that area.

I purchased a radar panel cover in burl wood finish from FP. However, I am not going to use it.
There's a 20% restocking fee if I send it back to FP, and before I send it back to them, I figured I see if anyone needs a radar panel and if so just pass the 20% discount to a CSR member.

I paid $109 for it and would be happy to get $80 and I'll split the shipping.

Any one out there have a 2003 340 Dancer SDA (the new one for that year...SDA) with the standard 6.2L V-drive. (also any 2004 or 2005 with this power). Have you re-proped with something other than the factory 17x19 3 bladed prop?

Hi guys,
I'm moving over from the Official 280da thread to this one as I just signed a contract on a 2004 340da.....so I'll have a whole bunch of questions like I did for my 280...get ready!
Biggest question I have is I'm going from sterndrives to vee drives, which most people seem to prefer. What should I expect in handling once I get to actually drive this baby in four to five l-o-n-g months from now?

18X22 is the 3 blade for the 8.1s..
6.2 would not turn them for full RPM I am pretty sure.

I want a set of 4 blades for mine... one day.

stupid question maybe but where do you plug the vacuum hose into for the central vac? The hose was stored under the salon sofa but I couldn't find the input or controls??? 340 newbie...

5/17/19 Its there and can be Tuned on when the Hose is inserted in! Near the floor and under and near the Solons feet area Plug it in!.

Hi all. Looking to replace my Tides Sureseal shaft seals and cutlass bearings. Anybody have this done by a marina recently and what was the cost? Its a nightmare to gain access at least for me. I replaced one of the replacement seals last summer and that was a 10 advil job. I might skip the diy on this one and pay out.

Small update to my trim tab mods. Built super nice 24X14 tabs with 2.5 drop fins incorporated(pics on page before)

boat came out, tabs came off, all looked good. Welded new tabs to underside of old tabs. Square as can be. Once I put the tabs back on the boat the drop fins did not look right. Each tabs fins are not facing forward close but not.... they point inward little as the mounting of the tabs is not 90 to the boat. The stern of the boat is not flat. So take note other 99-02 340 people the round stern is not allowing the tabs to follow/deploy 100% square, and thus the drop fins are not right when square on tab.... Bennet said this will be extra drag (obviously) but also stress the mounts, in odd ways bending it, twisting rams, or also pulling strews holding mounting hinge into stern out/ popping heads off. Also the fins would be trying to stear the boat, granted canceling each other out, but a lot of drag/and stress for no reason.

Now others have done some drop fins and no issues. and I left them on the boat for 2-3 days while still on the hard, and after all my research it was not worth the risk.. so I removed and cut the drop fins off.

so now back on the boat is 24X14 tabs but with a flat bottom, so it does not matter about the round stern.

Bennet did say I could Mount drop fins at the angel needed to the bottom of the tab, but that's not in my mind right. And would change some with how much tab is down.. so big flat tabs that don’t care about round transom.

I did my 340 SD Tide Sureseal and cutlass bearing I had it done in March 2019. I usually duo all the work on my boat my self butt that was more than I wanted to tackle. The cost to have the boat haul out and all part and labor $3900 in a Miami River marina.

After you re-launch, please share the performance data w/o the drop fins.
