Lake Saint Clair Peeps

Actually Beacon's dock are so high that this year their probably perfect. When I got the 400 in 2016 I had a ladder mounted on the dock so we could climb down to the swim platform. So far I'm loving MacRay.

Do you guys use the pumpouts at the dock? If so is there a value in the dock to turn them on? I haven't even looked in there yet. I did hear that their not all that powerful and you should go to the gas dock a couple times a year and have it pumped out good.

Is there a certain date that all the boats are suppose to be in?

Last year was my first year at Mac & Rays. I used the Fuel Pump pump outs most of the time but did use the dockside once for my last pump out. The hose was pretty dirty and looked as though it hadn't been used in years. However to my surprise it worked great. Obviously takes longer but very convenient.

One thing I just read on this thread, which being a new boat owner (one year) I didn't realize. That I should run the head to vent to reduce the chance of it collapsing.

Brought the boat up to Mac&Rays Sunday. A beautiful day it was. I thought there would be more boats in but then again, we haven't had the nicest of weather.

Is this Brad?

I constantly run water while pumping a d I will also run hose threw pump out port at least twice after every pump to keep clean..also a user of no flex still not sure it's worth it but for the few bucks I just keep using it as it hasn't harmed anything

Dockside pumpout was my favorite feature of MacRay! They're actually just a vacuflush vacuum generator, so it's true that they're slow. I pumped-out at the end of every weekend and flushed generously in the process. My tank had never been cleaner than it was there. It probably also deserves credit for my sanitation hoses being factory-original with no permeation. Being able to pump whenever you want means you can send tons of water through the system with each flush. My aft head duckbills are also factory original. If any other owners of a 23 year old boat can say that, I'd like to hear from them!

I question the wisdom of going to the gas dock for a more powerful vacuum. It's not as if a vacuum hose is sweeping the sides and bottom the tank during the fuel dock pumpout... In my experience, it's not the speed of emptying the tank that removes residue, it's rinsing. If you keep a head flushing during the end of the pumpout, water is splashing to the bottom of the tank and then being pumped out, taking residue with it. (if anyone is wondering, there is no issue whatsoever to operating a head during a pump-out. In fact, doing so can reduce risks of damage)

If you haven't looked at the hose yet, it might be very dirty. IMO, it's totally worth the effort of cleaning it and making sure the clips on the end are intact. Report to maintenance if they're not. Also communicate with your neighbor about best practices, specifically ensuring the hose is full of lake water, not waste water when they're done. It can be an awkward discussion, but I've shared a dock with a slob. I guarantee the discussion is worthwhile!!!

If you don't have a fitting, the prevailing wisdom is to buy one at a hardware or farm supply store at a fraction of the price of the plated version carried by WM.

They sell the fittings in the store at the gas dock.

Thanks EZ

I am on Mr Mac #44. How about you?
Sweet, I updated my CSR members Macray map to include you.

I'll go ahead and pay extra then. I'm not trading in the boat for John Deere.:D:D:D

You should stop drinking land beer! I have a Marine Beer distributorship. Each can costs $7.50 and I only carry one brand, but I put a sticker with an anchor on every can to identify it as marine-approved. My warehouse is a 390DA located on Amber Dr... :D

Although Rich covered me already with the awesome map, I'm at Seabreeze 34.

Does everyone know that MacRay wells are searchable addresses in Google Maps? The default "pin" location for every well used to be near the mailboxes on SeaRay Blvd, but now both Google and Apple maps have improved to be at least somewhere on each street. When I lived in Bldg 1, I grew tired of having pizza delivery guys calling from the Mr. Mac flagpole asking where I was. I submitted address pin corrections for the entire bldg as well for friend's wells throughout the property to both Google and Apple maps. I didn't know at the time that Apple doesn't actually make adjustments, so that was a waste of time. Google does make corrections though, so if your well # doesn't pin to your actual location, Google will fix it. From that point forward, you can tell guests and deliveries that they can find you with Google maps.

If any of you would like your well # to be edited in Google but don't know how to do, shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to do it for you.

(if your well # has the default pin, ask Joe or Scott about their pizza topping preferences, because sooner or later they'll get your pizza delivered to them) :D

I appreciate it Roller, I think I have seen your distribution center before. If you don't mind I'll just take what I need and let you know at the end of the season how much I owe you.:D:D:D

I like everything on mine except pineapple (fruit on a pizza?? you kidding me). Oh yeah don't forget to pay with a credit card also. I don't want them showing up looking for payment. Might as well add the tip to.:D:D:D

I printed out the MacRay map from Rich (Great Lakes), just added your name to Seabreeze by the red spot. Just need to find who the other red members are. I'll be keeping this on the boat so to get to know others. Thanks again for the map Great Lakes.
