The big old 80's 340 owners thread

Thanks was going to do that
If could not replace it
Have you got any good replacement hatchs suitable for 340 front hatch over bed and kitchen ?

Hi guys....I would like to get this thread going again. Although it is cool to hear about all the other sea rays, all I really want to do is discuss ways I can continue to learn and improve my 1988 34 EC.

Headliner question......is it unheard of to rip the old headliner down, sand it smooth, and paint it a bright white? Penny for your thoughts....
Thanks,
Greg
Hi whats up with your headlining ?

Hello Carl, when I get back to Blighty in May I would like to meet up. I have had my EC since 2016. Have been living on her this winter here in Florida and am returning. I keep her at Halifax Harbour Marina. This is a really wonderful spot. Are you in Liverpool??

Hi
I am in conwy ? On river mooring pontoon by the castle
Your welcome

If your on one engine put trim tabs opposite one up on down you will have more control off 340 that way had mine 25yrs
I'm guessing you put the active engine side tab down and the "dead" side up, right?

Anyone found an LED replacement bulb for these fixtures? I think the bulb is a #53. The ones I found on Amazon don’t look like they’d fit. Thanks!

Its not easy you have to shunt forwards and backwards
In a strong 9knt tide like conwy can be a nightmare !
Ps my boat uses 25ltrs diesel per hour both engines @20knts good figures these try beat them

This is my replacement solid teak table that folds in half allowing easier access to the seating. My boat is in Daytona Beach where I have been since January.
I purchased the table unfinished added 7 coats of Cetol and because it stands on one pedestal it will rotate. I hated the old table. Not comfy at all and a real pain in the bum getting in and out. Eventually I will change the set up closer to Carl’s solution but keep this lovely table and set it in vertical to the port side. There is another table like this at the salvage marine surplus store here on International Speedway Blvd which I may purchase next year if it’s still there when I return. Being so close to the recently closed Merritt Island Sea Ray Factory means there are bargains to be had here.
I love my homely 340 EC now I have replaced both carbs this trip and put in a new CD player. Still haven’t taken out the old tiny 1989 built in telly, central Vacuum, and 80’s VCR but the Marine Air system is a real honey switching from ice cold to cosy warm. I return to Bristol on the 9th May. Looking forward to seeing friends at our Cabot Cruising Club here in town in the Basin. We are hosting the Cardiff Yacht Club next Saturday. Look up our club on Facebook it is in a refurbished Light Ship call the John Sebastian And includes a theatre, full bar and the nicest people you could ever meet.

Here is my chaise that has replaced the back to back double passenger seat allowing a lovely place to read and relax. Lightweight and much easier to get in to the port engine compartment. I have taken off the old painted on name with heavy duty oven cleaner soon to be renamed “Snowbird” I think it suits her.

Is this layout on an ‘88 Express Cruiser or Sundancer? I have an ‘88 Sundancer 340 and would love to transition to this layout.

Hello DJBArnes, where do you keep your boat? I see Athens is quite far from the Gulf my son lives in Fairhope
