I'm new here and wondering if anyone can direct me to someone who can deliver a boat for me. I'm buying a 1988 Sea Ray 270 Amberjack. 10' beam and weights about 7,000#. It's on a tri-axle trailer. I need it moved from northern Michigan to Milwaukee

Northern Michigan to Milwaukee???? Deliver that thing on the WATER! That would be a fun trip. A great opportunity to get to know your new boat...

While I agree, some of us don't have that kind of time. :)

There is a company based out of Northern Illinois called Great Lakes Boat Transport. I haven't used them but I've talked with them on several occasions, and they seem to be a good operation.

They may be scaled for larger operations, but it's worth a call to find out.

Others may recommend going through U Ship. It's a great way to get quotes to get a competitive rate, and then see whether you are comfortable with the service. My personal experience is that you get alot of brokers quoting on the shipment, but you don't know who is actually carrying the load. Other may have different experiences.

Great Lakes Marine Service is a legit company but when I inquired about a 25 ft no trailer for 650 mile delivery they said boat too small.
