WOW! You Can Get A $40 5 Gallon Bucket From Yetti...

I would love to listen in on some of the conversations the marketing folks at Yeti are having.

collection fever for Sea Ray stuff.... hats, shirts, shorts, key chains, Hitch cover, towels, rugs, glasses... I had everything....
I'm the same way. Everyone on the dock teases me. I tell them I can't buy a different brand boat because I would have to get a new wardrobe. Remember the boat show "Orange quarter zip SeaRay pullover":D:D

if you were to put a 'YETI' sticker on a pile of dog poop i bet somebody would buy it.....i just don't get it....:(....

Here's another $50 bucket. The Battlewagon Bucket with 'Reef Scope" clear bottom

I have this "beaut" right here. I think I paid $5, and it matches my boot stripe. Wouldn't want to sit on it tho.....

Hey!!... lets not go too far... :) Here is part of my collection.. I posted the same pic the last time you guys were picking on Yeti... it's not like I am collecting Rolex's.. I know 4 people off the top of my head who do... I don't get that for a second... but I don't own a watch so that might explain it. I have a pile of regular coolers in the basement and in the attic...the kids have some.. I have some at the condo.... so there very well might be a problem there.... just let me live :)

Have been thinking about a small Yeti just for ice. We don’t have an ice maker on the boat and the bag ice we usually buy for day trips sometimes gets too watery to be really enjoyable in drinks.
Was thinking that I could fill a small Yeti with solid cubes from the home ice maker, bring them to the boat, and they would last all day.
Just can’t wrap my head around spending that much on a little plastic cooler though.

your thinking is correct but don't think that the only cooler that will perform like this is a YETI.....not to start a 'cooler wars' but i did significant research on this including documented head-to-head performance testing and i ended up buying an ENGEL brand high performance cooler....and it performs VERY well at keeping ice...it is significantly less expensive that a similar sized YETI with as good or better performance....

Hunt around for a deal or sale ... ebay is a good source. If you leave a search running in ebay you will get first crack at them... people get them as gifts and flip them a lot...I have never paid full price for a Yeti anything

The 13 Quart Engel Dry Box Cooler looks to be the perfect size for what I need but the reviews for keeping ice all day aren’t encouraging.

I put just under $1k of diesel in the boat this past weekend. I am trying to burn it by the end of May.... I bought the cheap diesel it never lasts :) ... your yeti will last 20++ years

For years I had a "cooler" I got from a guy that worked at a pharmaceutical company that they used to ship high value contents that had to be kept cold. It had no protection of the styrofoam, but man would it stay cold. That lack of protection was why it eventually fell apart.

I would luv to put up a pick of all my yeti gear, however it would take me hrs to collect it all from the different locations in the house and move it to one location for a pic, additionally if my wife saw it all she may think I have a problem... FYI... I just ordered two white 45s to be used as a cooler,
/seat/step to access the bow inloo of the OEM SS ladder..... when they arrive I will have seadek installed on the top with a Searay Logo to match my floor!!!

The smallest hard Yeti (20) is too big for what I need. I’m looking for something small, like personal size, that I can slide under the seat in the cockpit or sit on the galley counter.
With the large fridge in the Salon and the small fridge in the cockpit I don’t need a cooler for keeping food and drinks cold. I’m really just looking for a small hard cooler that will keep loose cubes nice and solid for use in cocktails. Kind of like a big ice bucket.
A 7 or 8lb bag of ice is perfect for our needs for a day/evening on the hook or hanging at the dock with friends. But sticking a bag of ice in the freezer in the salon, as nice as that freezer is, basically takes up most of the useable space in there.
Also, when you keep the ice in the bag in the freezer you wind up having to break off cubes every time you want to make a drink.
The ice gets pretty watery in the little cheap Playmate type coolers, which ruins the Gin & Tonics so they’re out.
Most days we put the bag of ice in the freezer, but I’d like to keep that space free for other things if possible and not have to keep it in the plastic bag.
Plus, it would be nice to be able to fill a little cooler from the ice maker at home rather than having to remember to stop to buy a bag.
We’ve considered a portable ice maker but the feedback on them isn’t good and it would be a PIA to have to fill it with water and wait for the little cubes to be ready.

LOL... Ok ok I get it I went to far.... Like a yeti I am a bit of an overachiever.. Cooler on :)

Did someone say RTIC? Oh maybe it was me....:D:D:D....Where do you guys get your $$$$... I had to buy an RTIC so I could afford my SeaRay "YACHT" arch emblems.;)
