Got to meet DPVandy01 today at Tarpon Point! Great to meet you Daniel! Sorry we were packed up and leaving for the day. I leave for Montreal on the early flight in the AM.

Hoping to meet Carver370 soon as well - he is "wintering" in the condos by our marina and caught a picture of us underway last Wednesday on our post maintenance sea trial.

I will most likely be there in the next month. Picking up a 58 in Lauderdale and crossing the lake. Any suggestions on where to spend the night?

Depending on how fast you go, you may need to stop at Roland Martin's on the south end of the lake. 5 locks, Channel 13; bridges are Ch 9. My dockmate made it in one day though from Stuart to Tarpon Point in Cape Coral in his 58. City Marina in downtown Ft. Myers usually has the cheapest fuel. How far past Ft. Myers will you be going?

Sunset Marina on the Stuart side, more or less the last marina before starting up the river. Past the last bridge you will have to open in Stuart.

We have done the trip from Sunset to Fort Meyers City in a day. Carter is correct, midway point is Roland Martins if you don't cross in a day.

Shallowest water is along the stretch of river westbound after you go past Sunset.

Sorry about my delayed responses. I’ve been traveling so much! I would like to make this trip in a day if possible. I’ll be going all the way back to Texas so it’s imperstice I make the best time possible. That means I need to make good time in the protected waters and this is one of those stretches. I really appreciate the advice and will take all I can get because I haven’t been across th lake before.

I was thinking of leaving lauderdale and heading to Stuart then crossing the lake the following day. Then head to Clearwater area for fuel and weather to cross to Panama City. Then on to port eads, intracoastal city, then Galveston.

Tarpon Point Marina is where the Caloosahatchee joins the intercoastal. Stop there and you can take the ICW to Boca Grande Pass and then run outside to Clearwater. -110 NM if my memory serves me... then 220 NM to PCB. Treasure Island Marina is close to having fuel back. If fuel price is no object fuel at TPM or stop for your fuel at City Marina in Ft. Myers - better prices. I'll check for you as you get closer - when are you leaving Ft. Liquordale?

I’m shooting for March 8. Having some diesel work done so you know how the timelines move. I really do appreciate all of the advice. I’ll look at all of the options you folks who’ve done that trip suggest.

Boca Grande with Carter is as far south as we have planned on this trip.

When we leave on the 7th, we will be meandering our way north back to Clearwater - keep us posted on progress we may be in the same place as you head north.

If you find yourself going through the area mid day and want to run longer - Venice (Crowsnest Marina) is a good stop north of Boca Grande pass.

I’ll make a post for sure once it gets folirmed up. Having 1000hr services completed so it’s taking a while.

Have fun, have been to that marina several times we usually rent a house just up the river but had to pass this year.
