Has anyone ever put curtains in for your port and starboard windows? I'm so surprised SeaRay never put them in. What have you guys done?
My wife has to keep putting pillows in the windows ...ok enough said...lol

I installed 1" brown venetian blinds. I think I got them from Lowes.

I had them for my 260DA (it was an option on that model). They attached via snaps screwed into the SS trim ring. Could probably have someone make them?

I put up curtains across the opening. After contemplating the "snap on" type that cover just the port lights, a track system as well as micro-blinds I went with a simple split curtain that I put up with a tension bar (thank to @JVM225 suggestion). It works great. My biggest concern was above the galley since I did not want anything permanent in the way since on longer trips we pack that space with goods (like rolls and buns, chips, etc). I went with a heavier bar intended for showers that goes up and comes down when needed and stays in place. Since we have someone regularly sleeping in the cabin area it was a necessity to keep the morning light out (especially for the kids that sleep later) so I doubled the curtain material (now the cabin is almost blacked out when closed).

I picked out curtains (for the material) and the tension bar at Walmart for under $50. BTW for the trips that we stock up above the galley I cut out a piece of cardboard that I could slide behind the goods and cover the portlight. I plan on wrapping that with the same material just for looks this year.

I can not seem to find any pictures right now put will look for some if you are interested or snap some next time I am down on the boat.

As a side note I am also looking to install privacy curtains now to match and place them lower (similar to the 2005+ model) so that they do not block my TV.

The trickiest part of that I found was if you do not already have the snaps installed you will have to track them down. They are available but I never went that path so I did not work out the right length and thread.

I may still revisit that if my cardboard covering is not up to standards.

Interested in seeing what others have done as well. My 320 does not have any coverings and I’m looking for some options.

Have some of these made out of plastic. Work well and stow well. Completely solves the privacy issue. Can use a different color to keep unwanted light out.

Great idea!

Any suggestions on where I could have them made at?
Tiara includes them with all their boats that have port lights and they store in a fabric bag that is attached to the inside of the storage beneath the bed. I believe they are made in house like a lot of stuff the company builds for its boats. These would be really easy to make using a template and a band saw. The key would be to buy the proper material. You could call Tiara and find out more. Buying them from Tiara will cost an arm and a leg.

I'm sure a company like SailRite would have machine screw-stud snaps. Or maybe Google will have it :) But you'll need to tap threads into the SS. There are also plenty of adhesive-backed snaps available that I'm sure would work just fine... or even velcro. But there will, of course, be some cost in having the curtains made.

I like the idea of the drop-in sunblocker "card". Easy enough to replicate either using cardboard, like you did, Kevin, or even something a little more permanent like luan. If needed, make it out of something better looking: acrylic or polycarbonate should be easy to source (and looks like what you have, SBW1?).

They do have them - just many sizes and I did not follow through since I went with the curtains - someday I will circle back as I am sure the need will arise again.
