Hi there, I'm new member that's been lurking for a while...it's just coming up summer down here so starting to use the boat more - few pics of the hard top that was on when we purchased it. All the clears and covers are removable. The recent addition from swimplatforms.com - is amazing!

Welcome! Never seen a 270 with a hardtop?
Love the swimplatform!

Thanks...the sun is fierce here and you burn in 5 minutes so the long shade was a definite selling point. It is a little limiting for fish casting, but the platform will resolve that. We are thinking of having a rod holder rack extend around the back of the hard top so will post pics of this if we get it done.

New here, great thread!! Of course I have a few questions..
I have a 96 with a 7.4 carberated, with the bravo 2. What is the HP of this and what should I be getting for cruising speed vs rpm?

I got it the end of the season so have not spent slot of time on it. Thanks

Here is the Sea Ray brochure. You have a 300hp 7.4.

That is exactly what I have in my 97. My cruise speed per RPM varies greatly depending how the admiral loaded her down. Reasonably loaded 35 mph at 3200-3300. 3400 kicks the four barrels in and she sucks gas. 4200 was my top RPM as I have a big stainless prop. When the Admiral loaded her like a 40 footer it was 3300 and 28 mph. LOL

Thank you for the fast reply ! What prop are you running?

Also what do you think you burn for fuel ? Any type of reference. I love my boat but the way just trying to see if it is within the norm :)

Thanks again!!!

I an happy to help in any way I can 10 years ago folks were helping me that way on your model boat and are still helping even though my main boat is a Cruisers Yachts.

It is nice when folks we help hit the like button on the posts that were helpful.

Again glad to help you and will answer any questions I can going forward.

MM

My prop is 17.25 dia and 21p stainless, does that sounds right ?

I tried to get a owner manual off the searay web sight, they don’t even have the 270 from the 90s listed, any idea where I might find one?

Buy the way, Cruisers Yachts are beautiful !! I would love to move up to that some day !

Has anyone connected a fuel consumption sensor up? Wondering if it’s worth it? I could add one to my gps for about $200. I’m thinking3200-3300 is most likely the best fuel economy so may just be a waist of money ?
