Had to give a shout out..I have to say it looks perfect. I made a template and sent it to them 3 weeks ago and it just came back. My plan is to relocate my VHF and add a new Stereo control. So I had this made up to cover the existing holes. Matches perfect too.

That looks really great. I need to get them the details on what I need and get a quote.

Very nice. The wood grain pattern looks like a perfect match. I had them make panels on my old boat and their work and responsiveness were fantastic.

I’m thinking of upgrading the electronics on my 2009 330 DA, and that will require several new wood grain panels on the dash. The existing OEM panels are thick, with the screw holes somewhat inset because of the thickness, and the panels have a thick rounded edge with the wood grain showing on the rounded edge, not just on the flat top surface. It looks like your original OEM panel is the same type as mine. Doe the new panel they made for you have the same thickness, with the same thick rounded edge showing the grain on the rounded edge like the original? It’s hard to tell in the photos, but it looks like it does.

I would highly recommend Technographic as well. I re-did my helm and while they are more expensive than FP, the quality is top notch including the rounded edges and countersunk holes.

I use 1/8 inch white plastic sheet. Got on ebay. Just search it. The panel is the same size as original and has the same round edges.

For mine, they had a template on file for the dash & switches so I would start by contacting them. I gave them a custom size with cutout template for under the VHF (to cover the prior larger hole) and provided the install templates for the vesselview and active trim. I added an extra switch to the stock switch panel as well. It took a few drafts back and forth but they were great to work with.

They say they have my template for the perimeter...so thats fine... I was wondering how you layed out the holes for components

Since the components I was adding were new I was fortunate enough to have pdf mounting templates and just emailed the files. The did the layout drafts and we tweaked them a bit. Otherwise I would have ordered a solid panel and laid out the components and made the cuts myself.

Some years ago several members had issues with Tecnographics. The owner then was not returning calls, product, nor templates sent in. Are they all god now?

They are not just good they are great! It’s a small operation and most likely you will be dealing with Sam. Be patient and know you will have the finest work around.

Mike,
Is that the one where the guy was in jail & had one excuse after another? I thought that was the guy that ultimately sold out to FP?

I had no problem with sam. He returned my calls and got it back in the time he said.

This was the only problem I ever heard of. Never ever a problem with Tecno.

Can anyone estimate how much more expensive before I bother them for a quote? FP's panel kit for my boat is $600. That includes a panel where SeaRay didn't put one, so the edges are very visible.

20% more? 30?

The biggest difference is the finished edges.
I think FP will do that just cost more. If you are replacing everything and don't mind the square edges then everything will look nice.
I find mix and match doesn't quite match up.
20% is a fair statement from what I've seen.
Depends on complexity, cut outs ect.
