Intriguing device but I wouldn't want the only display to be an iDevice, at least in the daytime. iPads tend to overheat in direct sun, and are difficult to see in bright light. If you only run your radar at night, it would probably be fine.

I would be concerned about bad weather interfering with the wireless communications.

I have the 1815. It has the exact same antenna/dome but it's hardwired to a Furuno display.
