Afternoon CSR,

I am going to use the word...winterization. I am preparing and want to change my transmission fluid. I have a v drive model number 20-02-003. Does anyone have a manual for this. Trying to find how much fluid it takes. Check on the site and can find it for other trannies, just not the V drive.

Thanks for the help!

Also - is there a screen or filter on this model. I am not seeing or finding either. Other posts talk about cleaning the filter etc.

thanks again

That doesn't look like a transmission model number commonly used on 340DA's. Suggest you verify the make and model or post a photo of the transmission and the mfg's label.

5000 Series V-Drive 1.5:1 Ratio (VELVET DRIVE TRANSMISSION P/N 20-02-003) (#W2002003)
try using this in search

Huh, what year boat do you have? I dont see filter either in your schematics. I would look at the dip stick and fill slowly to where it was before. My ZF takes around 4 quarts, but dont go by me for yours.

BT Doctur - that's it!

Is Velvet Drive a type of transmission? It appears several manufacturers made a velvet drive transmission...what a pain in the ass it makes it for us. One of the manuals said 3 quarts - I put 2 in and I think it's full. I realize part may still be in the transmission or in the cooler.

Next time you change the fluid, grab a few use/ old emptied 1qt bottles to can dump the old fluid into so you can measure how much fluid you took out.
FWIW- it looks like the cooler could easily hold 1/2 a qt it self and another 1/2 could be sitting at the bottom of the transmission.

I have the same Velvet Drive 20-02-003 in my 1998 Sun Dancer 330. Thinking about sucking what I can out of each of them and replacing with new fluid. Not sure about filter or screen. Saw one guy drain transmission at cooler. That appeared difficult.
