I think this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find the thread....

I have noticed a few post that mentions a 'SDA' Sundancer instead of a 'DA' Sundancer.....

I thought the 'S' stood for the 'Sportsman Package' offered on the Sundancer models.....the SDA model was a fishing set up with two transom doors and a molded-in live well at the back of the cockpit....but I noticed sometimes the post talking about an SDA does not show the double transom door in an Avatar or a sig pic....

just curious of the actual differences in an SDA and DA Sundancer....

SDA was the 2003.5+ model. I guess since 2003 already had the DA they needed to differentiate and did not change.

Some people just don't know how to refer to their vessel.. Many refer to their Sundancer as a SD, which is actually a SunDeck, while others call the Sedan Bridge a SB rather than a DB. When I see a question about someone's 38SD I try to hold my tongue before I mention that I didn't realize Sea Ray made a SunDeck that large... Any way, it's always best to look in profiles, or just ask or clarrification. (And try not to be as snarky as I am)

While I understood what Cliff was asking I might want to clarify what I previously posted for other readers. I was referring to the 340 Sundancer model that had a change in style mid-year 2003.

thanks Kevin....this is the first I am hearing that the later model (2003.5 and up) Sundancers have the designation 'SDA'.....

Oddly, only the 340 carried the SDA designation. ALL other Sundancers have the DA designation. I'm wondering if that's just a typo on Parts Manual.

The 2003 model year had two different 340's. The early 340DA (internationally 365) and then later in the year the 340SDA (internationally 375). As I mentioned I am guessing that they wanted a way to differentiate the two models in the US and just carried the SDA forward until it was replaced by the 370.

Sounds like a very rationale explanation.
