2000 340 DA. The power vents by the cook top and in the head sound like a friggin' jet engine! Is that normal??

Sort of like the afterburners being kicked in when using the head?

Mine are really loud too. The upside is that they work really well.

Mine are far louder at the vent than the fans themselves are up close.

I can see the ductwork amplifying the sound, but it’s more than seems reasonable.

They do work well though and I really wish the one in the head was high up in the corner of the shower to exhaust the steam.

Mine are obnoxiously loud. Would love to replace with a more hearing friendly option.

+1 on all of the above. I had them on the list to take apart and figure out why they are so loud. No need now...

Okay... This thread needs to be put on hold for winter... This is a premature thread.

But....In my opinion... The fans are a warning siren that someone did something they shouldn't have done..... :)

This thread makes me feel better. I thought maybe I was the only one that had bionic hearing while in the head. :D

On another boat forum some folks were similarly complaining about the vent fan in their head. I don't know if it will fit, but someone replaced theirs with a Johnson Pump 54154 Extra Heavy Duty Remote Mount Radial Blower. They claimed it reduced the fan noise by half.

The only down side to this monster is you really have to carefully hold on to your paper products so they are not sucked out of your hand and plastered against the vent opening.
