My A/C works fine on shore power but 5-10 minutes after I change to genie they stop. Has anyone had a same/similar issue? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

How many volts is your genny putting out? A/C will shut down if it's not getting enough power. If you try to run in it with inadequate power you will damage the compressor. Sounds like a low power situation to me if shore power runs it.

Thanks sbw1, but I don't think it is low power as when I check the gauge on the panel box. It shows 150v on the gauge. I am going back at the genie tomorrow/Friday and will advise of status.
Thanks again,
Ken

150 volts is way too high. Use an accurate volt meter and reduce the generator rpm until you are in the 120 volt range. Most likely the ac will then run fine.

Seems like you'd be wrecking other things on the boat if you're truly running 150V??? Yowsers...

120 Volts & 60 HZ. will be their sweet spot. Checking out the governor for proper operation would be a good idea as well.

If the AC works on shorepower with no problems but shuts down on the genny then the problem is with the genny.
