Heading to Bimini - Staying at the Sands - anyone planning on being there or interested in heading over?

Crossed over as planned 7/2 - had a smooth crossing only inturupted by a smartcraft alarm about 2/3rds of the way there....ended up with two - yes two - bad IACs and no spare.....adjusted throttle cables as a work around, but thanks to a post on THT a couple of members brought me the parts.....honeymoon harbor, the sapona and turtle rocks were great - visited north bimini twice (stayed at sands on south bimini) rented a golf cart from sue & joy's, checked out the other marinas (including resorts world) and got Bimini bread at Nate's and lunch at Big John's

Great "day boating" all around Bimini - As far as the sands is concerned, it is clean and the people are nice - super easy in and out for the aforementioned day boating - customs check in is a "cab" ride to the "airport" - the marina does get infested by noseeums from about 6pm to 8am - next time we will stay at resorts world - more of a resort feel, more amenities, and closer to the "action" on north Bimini......i know, pics or it didnt happen - here are a few that were on my phone....anyone planning the trip feel free to reach out - I'm hardley an expert, but willing to share my experience

Headed there for a family vacation next week...not sure what to expect but looking forward to it!

By boat or plane? If your staying at the Sands make sure you're in a good unit and everything works - a lot of people had problems with A/C, hot water and washers when we were there (we stayed on our boat) Bring TP and Bug Spray - The ferry to the north is just down the road.....the thirsty turtle is even closer - Resorts World (Hilton) is really where you want to be though - Luna Beach is great, and the "action" of Alice Town is just a scenic golf cart ride away - the best thing about Bimini is the water, Bimini Undersea at the fisherman's village in resorts world is the place to book a snorkeling adventure (if you are staying at the sands, they will pick you up there) - they will take you on a half day trip to Turtle Rocks and the Sapona (unless you have your own boat there) Sue & Joys has a location there too for cart rentals. HAVE FUN!

I could only wish our water was that clear up here.

It is amazing - Nothing like cruising along at 30mph in 30' of water and seeing the bottom.....very cool to see your boats shadow zooming along with you too....I will try to update the thread with more pics soon - My family is still in Ft Lauderdale and I am heading down tomorrow to lay the boat up and drive them home....

We had family with boats down in Miami and the Keys. To be honest seeing bottom always made me a little nervous since when that happens up hear it usually involved a big repair LOL. I look forward to do that again. Last year when we took a cruise in the Bahamas I took advantage of the opportunity to charter a boat and Captain and the family had a blast. Fishing, snokeling, etc.
