Wanting to replace the black gasket/seal on these, plus take off the outside chrome trim (looks much like the inside one).

I removed the screws on the outside chrome trim, pretty much a mirror image of the inside one, but can't seem to pry it off. Maybe I just need to pry a lot harder? Do these inside screws need to be removed also? The screws just go into the fiberglass right? Not into opposite halves of the port windows right?

Are they currently leaking?

I wouldn't screw around with anything that is currently water tight.

The black rubber is just stuck on with adhesive..... just peal it off and use some googone to remove what's left before installing new.

Yeah a little bit...small leak.
Figured the black seal that is visible is easily replaced (assuming can find the correct replacement part). But trying to remove the outside/exterior chrome trim...guessing it's just on there extra sticky and being stubborn to peel off, but not sure, don't want to "break" something trying to force it.

Well, it’s a little deceiving the way they’re on. I’ll try and find the thread but basically the outside trim comes off when you take the 4 screws out and pry off. Once you’ve taken the outside trim off you’ll see the nuts that hold on the inside ring. Make sure you keep the inside screws in order, they’re cut to length.

Bad news is that if you’ve turned the inside screws the nuts will also turn and shred the silicone on the outside, so now you’ve got to rebed them. I did all 4 of ours last year. Takes about a tube of silicone per window.

Edit, here you go

If it's leaking between the glass and rubber gasket... tighten the (3) latches a bit. Also, clean the gasket/glass and condition the gasket.

Thank you, yup that's the exact ones I have (boat in link even has same color stripes!)
So...I'm just not prying hard enough...time to go in with more leverage! Hope I don't bend an end up while prying..

As stated pry the ring off and the nuts will be exposed. I just resealed mine.

...my next fix-it job.. mine leak and on one, i tried to tighten the inside bottom screw and it sheared off, rusted.. either replace or drill out and retap?

what did you use for the reseal? Also, I'm a bit confused on the little holes that see without nuts; are those screw holes from the inside? How is the outside trim actually attached? Do you need two people? One to hold onto the outside? Thank you!

You can do it alone if you absolutely have to by opening up the window and reaching inside the boat with one hand holding a screwdriver and the other holding the wrench on the nuts - I just had my wife come help me.
The other holes are for the trim ring (4 if I remember correctly). In this picture some of the nuts may have already been removed.
I believed I used a silicone - and a whole tube iirc.

Thanks! Sure helps...

Yeah I was replacing the screens at the same time so I was able to reach into the boat through the port hole.

I probably should have mentioned that I decided just to use a razor and cut the screen out carefully and I have decided not to replace them at this time....

So that black caulk that goes around your window, seems like you push the inner window through the port hole from the inside..and then run a bead of caulk around that, where it passes through the fiber glass? Smooth with wet finger? And then install outer trim ring?

Basically yes- I removed the window completely and cleaned it and taped it up. I re-installed it and filled the gap with sealant using a calk gun. Then I filled the window frame (after taping it) and installed it but did not tighten it all the way until is set up slightly. There is a good post somewhere on this site showing it step by step. Good luck - it's not that bad of a job.

Where do you find the the inside rubber seal between the window and the frame?
